Job Summary:

The Financial Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial health of the organization by managing budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and compliance activities. This role ensures accurate financial records, strategic financial planning, and supports executive decision-making with key financial insights.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Gr. 12.
  • Bcom degree in accounting or relevant Honours degree.
  • Qualified CA(SA) or 3-4 years’ experience working in an financial accounting role.
  • Experience as a finance manager.
  • Valid Drivers license with valid drivers license.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal in English and Afrikaans.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • Good interpersonal skills Ability to interact with various internal and external parties on various levels.
  • Able to take ownership and responsibility for the function.
  • Ability to work in pressurized environment and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt to constant change.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for full spectrum of accounting functions which include accurate and timely submission of financial reporting and consolidation.
  • Analyse overall financial position and perform necessary analysis on cost, budget and revenue.
  • Manage the month end closing process to conform with company policy and to review and analyse General Ledger details to ensure all relevant accounting transactions have been properly recorded.
  • Review and implement internal controls and maintain standard operating procedure on financial policies and procedures for the Company.
  • Be responsible for the maintenance of adequate processes and systems in ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
  • Lead the finance team for the overall financial performance of the Company.
  • Responsible for supervising and motivating the finance team to ensure high standard of work quality and efficiency.
  • Review income tax and tax returns for the company and ensure compliance with all tax legislation.
  • Liaise with auditor, tax agent and relevant parties for statutory and legislative requirements.
  • Liaise with Various departments to obtain necessary information.
  • Communicate and compiling various documents and information in order to process monthly journals.
  • Preparing and reviewing monthly journals and reconciliations.
  • Preparing monthly files for both internal and external audits.
  • Assisting in determining cost recovery basis and charges.
  • Assisting with queries in respect of internal charges.
  • Preparing information for monthly management accounts.
  • Track expenditure to approved budget and provide variance explanations.
  • Produce management accounts to be reviewed by senior management.
  • Analyse costs and trends and provide information the relevant teams for decision making.
  • Review Reconciliations for systems and General Ledger.
  • Manage, maintain and improve financial charge out models aligned with business expectations and strategies.
  • Provide information and explanation to all related queries to the business.
  • Provide required financial information to business, internal and external auditors.
  • Help provide financial solutions to various teams and managers.
  • Understand new businesses and strategies and implement the impacts within the business.
